Breast Cancer Fundraiser

Ok people..My friend and I are starting to plan a HUGE fundraiser for next spring. We just started this page so it will be updated as we get the info for it. We want to do a "Pedal for the Cure" ride. Starting today we will be getting all the info to get things in motion. It will be a ride to raise funds to find a cure against Breast Cancer! We plan on reaching all of Utah if possible. I guarantee we can raise thousands to find a cure!! :) Krissy Hallows is such an amazing woman and agreed to help :) With her by my side I know this event will be AWESOME!!

Mammogram

So I have been researching all these sites about the BRCA gene test..I had mine done and it came back negative but I'm so confused on what the lady told me. She said where my mom has not had the test done that my neg. could be false. So I need to get my mom up there and get the test done. I went and had my six month mammo done on Thursday and i can't even explain the anxiety i had. I was seeing spots and felt like i was going to pass out. They did the scan then made me sit in the room for over an hour. Every time that happens they have found something. I still have calcification's in each breast so I get soo nervous that one has grown or changed. I really didn't want to have another breast MRI and lumpectomy. She came in and said I could go home but they needed the radiologist at Utah Valley to look at my scan. They told me I probably had to have another MRI. So lets say that I was stressed till Friday morning. Dr. Anderson called me and said I can go 6 months without one if I do a self exam every month for sure and if anything even feels slightly different, then I have to have one. PHEWWW! lol Kinda crazy that my life will consist of this stress every six months for the rest of my life. But I have to say not testing and being to late to catch cancer is not an option. I have been reading lots of blogs lately ( http://crystalandskyler.blogspot.com/ ) and this one is my fav to follow. What a journey. That lil boy is sooo strong and his mother is amazing. They have dealt with so much in their lives. I can't even imagine. Its sad to think that childhood cancer is so common and you never really hear about it. It makes me want to get my kids regular blood work and scans done.

So much has happened the last couple weeks to dear friends that I just have to say I am so thankful to have healthy kids and wonderful husband.

Rk is doing great in Arizona and finally has really good grades...Its been really hard for me to have him move. I have raised him for six years, full time. So its been really hard not to talk to him or see him everyday. I am happy though that he is happy now. Conner has to go down there for Thanksgiving so we will get to see him for a short period then. Here is a pic of us opening morning on my rifle elk hunt.
It was very cold that morning. :) Dave got his elk so it was exciting. I didn't even one spike the whole hunt :( So i hope Robby gets his in November.

So we went up gooseberry to scout for my elk last night and there was over a foot of snow :) The boys had so much fun. I have decided to delete my facebook and will only be doing this blog :) The next week will be crazy cause of the rifle elk hunt. I hope we all dont freeze tomorrow morning lol. Rk is to come up today and i am so excited to see him. I hope to get lots of pics while he is home :)Here are some pics of the boys playin last night and the snow, i also threw in my favorite pic of me and my hunny on the archery hunt :)

ChaLEAN Extreme

So i have to tell ya...I love Chalean Extreme!! I had done this program a year ago and lost about 15 in just a month and now I have really started to eat extremely healthy and already lost 10...and now i want to loose about 15 more and ton up alot...I LOVE LOVE LOVE this program :) and can't wait to see the major results it will produce!

Healthy No Bake Cookies

1 rip banana, mashed well (banana replaces the butter :)
1 cup slenda ( called for sugar but splenda is better and no calories)
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup nonfat milk
1/2 cup peanut butter ( i like to use PB2 from www.bellplantation.com, much healthier)
pinch of salt ( i use No salt, sodium free alt.)
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
3 cups instant or old fashioned

Directions..
1. Place all ingredients except the vanilla and oats in pan and bring to boil over medium heat- stirring often.
2. Let the mixture boil for one minute, remove from heat and then let cool for one minute.
3. Add vanilla and oats and stir well to combine.
4. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper and cool to room temperature.

I really like these alot. Bein on a strict diet we all need a lil something good now and then. These will not break your diet at all :) ENJOY!!!

Weight loss Challenge

So My dad, Husband and two friends Dave and Jerry, and myself are all doing a weight loss challenge :) It goes for 90 days and the most percentage lost is the winner of $500...woohoo...i have been working hard and already lost 4 lbs since sunday morning :) Thats over a pound a day. I am going to blog my success cause it helps keep me motivated. I am going to be on a strict diet and doing ChaLEAN EXTREME..She is amazing! I will be using ISAGENIX. I will also be biking everyday and trying to run..not sure the runnin will work cause i have a horrible back :) lol...wish me luck

Archery Hunt

Gene Test

So almost three weeks ago I went to Huntsman Cancer Center and finally had the gene test done...Still no results and its killing me. Me and two of my boys are going to Moab this weekend with my family and i am so excited to have a mini vacation. Very sad that robby wont be able to make it cause he is working in North Dakota. Con, Jojo and I took him to the airport sunday on Easter. Really sucked not havin him here. The boys and I had fun hiding eggs and eating candy :)

So the last couple months our family has been going through so much. The word Cancer has been brought up so much and I hate it!

At the end of December I felt a lump in both breasts and went right away to have a mammogram. I sat there for about 2 hours retaking and having ultrasounds done.
The Radiologist came and talked to me telling me i had several spots of calcifications in both. So he recommended getting a Breast MRI done ( which are not cheap)

Two weeks later we went and got that done and the results read that we should do a biopsy. We scheduled that for around the 1st of February.

The night before we were to have the needle biopsy done i was admitted to the hospital for MRSA. On Thursday night my right eye started to swell so we went to the ER every night till sunday where by then my body was already starting to shut down and they admitted me right then. I was in isolation for a week and almost lost my life. The meds they give you for MRSA are really hard on your body and it was shutting my liver down. It was the worst week of my life! I couldn't even hold my three boys! I was very thankful the MRSA didn't move to my brain because it would have killed me that way also. The docs were very concerned and watched over me like angels.

After we got that horrible event past us we went up to Utah Valley for the needle Biopsy. Well there machine could not pull up my masses cause they have to alot bigger i guess. So we scheduled just a regular biopsy for about 2 weeks after our appointment up there.

The day of my surgery i was so nervous cause i had seen on the internet how deforming a lumpectomy can be. It took them 2 hours to get the needles in my breasts before we could do surgery...and you are awake and feel it all :(
Surgery went great and got to come home that day! My wonderful sister took such great care of me since my husband was in North Dakota at work and couldnt make it home (which was so hard). So we got the results back last Thursday and it was CANCER FREE!!! WOOHOO!!

I had such a weight lifted off me from the results but my docs still want me to have the genetic test BCRA done which tells you if you have a 60% chance of breast and ovarian cancer. We have this test schedules for the 7th of April and i am so nervous. This test will tell me if i have to have a double mastectomy. At the age of 25 its pretty hard to grasp this. I wanted more babies and can't now :( But i have to say that life is so much more important than a set of boobs lol....I will be having the mastectomy with reconstruction but it still wont be the same.

And let me tell you all this happened with no health insurance and now about $30,000 later makes me feel awesome lol NOT!!! Can't even imagine how much mastectomies cost!!

So while all this has been going on i have been having horrible back problems and hope i dont have to have surgery on it also.

We also have been takin the steps to foster kids so we can hopefully adopt a young girl or baby girl. I am VERY excited!!

So yes so much has happened and just kinda want to post it to get it all out and make myself feel better :)

when i get down like today or upset with my kids or anyone i just need a good bike ride....i feel so free when i ride and even better when i get back. I get so stressed out over little things and i have noticed instead of starting a fight with my husbad or yellin at my boys i just need to ride. I have lost 10 lbs so far and i feel so much better with my new diet...Biking is so addicting and it just really cools my hot temper lol....i am getting stronger everyday and i am so proud of my self for sticking with this...it really makes me happy...no point to the story just wanted to vent lol

We had a blast camping this weekend even though it was snowing on us the whole time....lol....but me and the boys and my sister played lots of games and watched lots of movies...Our horses got loose during the night and took off so at 5 in the morning robby went looking for them..he came back to camp and didn't have them so i was getting so worried....we went looking for hours and then robby was hiking around and spotted them...called out there names and them came running faster than they ever have...i was so happy he found Itchy and Digger...I would have been so sad if they were gone forever or hurt...they are my babies lol...then yesterday they digger got hung up on itchy's lead rope and got really hurt! What an eventful weekend! We had lots of fun after the horses were found. And oh my was there mud like no other lol the boys really loved that hahahah!
